Transgender Day of Remembrance

Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance, to observe and honor transgender people who have been killed or injured for living their authentic lives. Events are being held worldwide.

Two weeks ago Lina and I spoke with the Boone Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Boone, NC, about the trans experience, in conjunction with the Day of Remembrance. One of things we said is that though we haven’t been personally affected by violence, we are humbled by those who came out during a time when violence was all but inevitable. They are the brave soldiers, and we salute them.
