For NC voters

Update: 2017. Keeping this here for posterity’s sake. Who knows what’s in store as more of our rights are eroded every month.

Update: May 9, 2012. The freakin’ amendment passed, BUT … it galvanized same-sex marriage support and some day we’ll never believe such  constitutional craziness ever happened.

In 2011, the North Carolina Legislature proposed an amendment to the Constitution that would define marriage as only between a man and a woman. Same-sex marriage already is not recognized here, but this constitutional amendment would make that law even more difficult to ever reverse. Furthermore, according to Equality NC, the amendment also would ban legal recognition for all unmarried couples and strip protections and benefits from families across our state.

If you’re an NC voter, please vote before or ON MAY 8, 2012, to defeat this highly discriminatory amendment.
