And from Britain, a lovely story

This is just brilliant, as they say in England. One of the first Britons to undergo a sex-change received an MBE for her work toward gender equality. What the heck is an MBE, you ask? Well, judging from my research, it’s a “Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire,” a very high honor.  Read this wonderful article from the BBC News about April Ashley from Liverpool, who underwent “experimental gender reassignment surgery” in 1960 in Morocco. Cheers to her, and to all the trail blazers who have made our lives easier and healthier today.
